Job Description

A well established BAFE and SSAIB accredited company based in Nottingham are looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer.
They also operate under the BSI Kitemark delivering the highest stranded of service to their clients based in Nottingham.

My client believes that great staff build a great company and they are looking for a dedicated service engineer to join the team and assist with maintaining the client’s systems and safety.

99% of our OOH callouts are within 1 hour of Nottingham. ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS IN FIA, BS5839, DESIGN, COMMISSION AND SERVICE.

The Ideal Candidate
Experience:
Technical background in the electrical / electronic industry with 2 years (Required) Fire Alarm servicing and a basic Knowledge of the listed below systems above would be an advantage.
1+ years of customer service experience is required

Previous experience as an engineer familiar with the following systems:
Fire Alarms
Emergency Lighting
Extinguishing systems
Access Control
CCTV
Although the roll is predominately Fire & Lights a knowledge of intruder systems below would be advantageous.
Texecom
Eaton/Scantronic
Honeywell Galaxy
Pyronix
Risco
Menvier
Key Requirements

Carry out system maintenance, fault finding, attend emergency callouts and reactive works predominately for Fire Alarm, Emergency Light, Access Control
Complete electronic worksheets in real time daily
Complete monthly timesheets/mileage/expense claims.
Comply with policies relating to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Technical Compliance issues that affect the customer and employees.
Assist colleagues when required with technical issues, either by telephone support or site attendance.
Ensure all relevant engineering practices are adhered to - report any inconsistencies to a senior engineer or your service supervisor.
Ensure all jobs, call-out, maintenance or remedial works are attended to where possible, escalate to the office if delays or difficulties are encountered resulting in late/non-attendance. We aim to meet our client’s expectations and advise the client of any alterations/provide an E.T.A and avoid cancellations.
Whilst on site update the site logbooks with details of all work carried out.
To carry out any minor remedial/fault rectification works necessary during any PPM if customer gives the go ahead at the time of visit to limit return visits.
Maintain company issued equipment in good condition and fit for purpose. Report immediately any damaged, stolen or missing company issued equipment to the office.
Ensure good timekeeping and housekeeping at all times, making sure you are setting the right example.
Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company employee handbook.
Advise the office of progress/concerns on any contract/site you are involved with.
Develop and maintain effective Client relationships and assist in gaining future work by relaying leads and survey information to the sales team.
Attend and prepare for engineer’s meetings when required.
Work in a cost effective and cost-efficient manner.
Ensure all systems worked upon are left operational where possible. Escalate urgent and critical problems prior to leaving site. Review alternative solutions, there is a need to be resourceful at all times.
Correctly represent the company in company issued clothing.
Attend training courses to extend knowledge and skillset of various manufacturers products.
Attendance at the office is required occasionally to collect materials, catch up with your supervisor and manager and for in-house company training

We Require:
Lives within a commutable distance from our Nottingham offices.
Full UK Driving Licence
GCSE or equivalent (Required)
